A Two-Stage Map Differencing and Change-Detection Method Referencing Local Topology [Patent]

Published:

This invention provides a method for differencing and change detection between maps that can effectively and concisely express the differences between a source map and a target map, including both geometric differences and attribute differences. By associating and matching the local topology between the two maps, the correspondence between map elements is determined. Then, based on this correspondence, the geometric and attribute differences between the two maps are output to form the change source required for map updating, ultimately completing the element-level update of the HD map currently in use.
